The Japanese Group Dynamics Association

The Japanese Group Dynamics Association (JGDA) is an academic society for promoting research and practice in group dynamics. The association was founded in 1950 in the belief that nothing is more practical than a good theory, and in making use of the action research method.

In 1960, the JGDA began publishing its journal, the Japanese Journal of Experimental Social Psychology (JJESP), on a regular basis. Today, JJESP has two Japanese issues with English abstracts each year, including academic papers, short reports, review papers, and book reviews. It accepts theoretical, experimental, and methodological studies in group dynamics, including social psychology. It also accepts basic quantitative as well as applied or qualitative studies. Manuscripts for review are welcome; membership in the JGDA is the only requirement for publication.

Since 1998, the JGDA has also issued an English language journal in cooperation with the Asian Association of Social Psychology. It is called the Asian Journal of Social Psychology.

The JGDA has held its annual conference. Members can participate by making presentations, presenting posters or by attending the keynote address, symposia, and workshops. The JGDA has local chapters which meet on a regular basis.

About 800 domestic and international members are currently active in the JGDA. Please join us, and share in the stimulating academic and practical activities of the JGDA. If you are interested in JGDA, send e-mail to JGDA.
