The World
Database of Happiness is an ongoing register of scientific research
on subjective appreciation of life. It brings together findings that are
scattered throughout many studies and provides a basis for synthetic studies.

Presents all contemporary scientific publications. Detailed subject-classification.
Current content: 3422 titles, mainly in English. On this site the bibliography
can be browsed on first author and subject. Full database in MS ACCESS
available on request.
Catalog of Happiness Queries (testbank)
Presents all indicators that tap happiness as defined here. Current content:
522 measures, mostly single questions. Queries are classified by focus,
time reference, mode of observation, rating and wording. On this site
queries can be searched by focus. Of each query it presents full text
and links to studies that used the measure. Full database in MS ACCESS
available on request.
Distributional Findings on
Happiness
- Happiness in Nations Presents responses
to questions on happiness in national survey studies. Allows trend analysis.
Current content: 1889 surveys in 112 nations, 1946-2000. Subsets can
be browsed on this site. Full data is available for downloading
in a relational database under MS ACCESS.
- Happiness in Publics Presents responses
to questions about happiness in special publics, such as students or
aged people. Part of the Catalog of Correlational Findings (below)
Correlational Findings on
Happiness
Presents abstracts of correlational research findings. Detailed subject-classification.
Allows comparison through time and across nations. Current contents: 7476
findings from 705 studies in 140 nations, 1911-2000. On this site the
catalog can be browsed by subject. Searches in full database are made
on request.
Directory of Happiness Investigators
Names and addresses of most authors on the subject. Enumerates years of
publication. Current content: 6557 names and some 2500 recent adresses.
